"PAW" is in development with executive producer,
Denise Baddour. With over twenty-five years of network experience
including management capacities at MTV, Nickelodeon, Showtime and as former
head of Discovery Productions and Discovery Pictures, Denise brings with
her a wide array of resources within the industry. Acclaimed cinematographer
Douglas Cooper ("Brother's Keeper,"
Bruce Weber's "Chop Suey Club,"
Harpo Film's "David and Lisa")
as Director of Photography. Cooper's ongoing relationship with Decoy Films
began when he lensed the award-winning documentary "Gibtown,"
about Gibsonton, Florida -- home to thousands of carnival and sideshow
performers. Cooper was also Director of Photography on "For
Earth Below", Decoy Films 30min. short feature, staring Daniel
J. Travanti ("Hill Street Blues"),
Brooke Smith ("Series 7," "Silence of the
Lambs") and Bill Sage ("Boiler Room,"
"Simple Men"). "For Earth Below"
is slated for a two-year broadcast on the Sundance Channel, starting October
2002.
Denise Baddour, Executive Producer
In 1987, Denise Baddour was part of the original management team responsible for establishing The Discovery Channel as a worldwide leader in the production and distribution of quality nonfiction programming. Later, as head of Discovery Productions and then Discovery Pictures, she was responsible for the management of the company’s high-budget, original productions. Denise served as executive-in-charge for more than 300 hours of original programming including award-winning specials and series such as "INVENTION" in association with the Smithsonian, "Normandy: The Great Crusade" and "Connections" with James Burke. She also lead the company’s move into out-of-home entertainment including its first theatrical feature, "The Leopard Son" and facilitated the development, distribution and of Content Connect, LLC, a knowledge-based media company developing content related to wellness and personal growth. Harms, Director/Producer, Co-writer
New York-based artist-turned-filmmaker Loretta Harms writes, directs and produces at Decoy Films, which she founded in 1996. Her first short film, "The Last Groove", screened at numerous festivals including Rotterdam, Stockholm and Leeds and has had special screenings at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. Her 30 minute short film entitled "For Earth Below", begins a two-year broadcast on the Sundance Channel starting October, 2002. She is also an executive producer and producer of the award-winning documentary "Gibtown", about the community of Gibsonton, Florida, USA--retirement and off-season home of thousands of carnival and circus show people. The film received six awards from the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association, including Best Feature and Best Documentary and was the recipient of the Gold Plaque in the category of Documentary: Arts/Humanities from the Chicago International Television Competition. "Gibtown" airs nationally as part of the prestigious PBS Independent Lens Series. Her feature film script "PAW", a coming-of-age, modern werewolf tale, is currently in development through Decoy Films. Prior
to her career in filmmaking, Loretta was awarded the Clarissa Bartlett
Scholarship and the Kate Morse Scholarship for her work in the fine arts.
Her painting, photography and large-scale installation work has been featured
in gallery exhibitions in New York City, Boston and Europe.
Douglas Cooper, Director of Photography
Cooper launched his career as a Director of Photography with the highly acclaimed feature-length documentary Brother's Keeper (Winner: Best Documentary, National Board of Review; Best Documentary, New York Film Critics Circle; Audience Award, Sundance Film Festival: and Prix Joris Ivens, Cinema du Reel). He has worked with Bruce Weber on several films including a film on Robert Mitchum and the recently released documentary "Chop Suey Club" (World premier, Berlin Film Festival, distributed by Zeitgeist Films). His credits as Director of Photography include the television movie "David and Lisa" , starring Sidney Poitier and Lukas Hass, which was produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Films, the documentary "Gibtown" (Winner: Best Cinematography, Best Documentary, Florida Motion Picture and Television Association), which airs nationally as part of the prestigious PBS' Independent Lens Series, and "For Earth Below" (Produced by Decoy Films). In addition, Cooper has shot numerous commercials (Nike, Amstel Lite, and Victoria's Secret) and music videos (Celine Dion and Mariah Carey). Donna
Radik, Co-Writer
Donna Radik's career has taken her from the theater in Calgary, where she worked as a Playwright and Assistant Director, to Toronto, where she studied filmmaking at Ryerson University. She spent four years at Telefilm Canada, where she worked her way from Script Coordinator to a Creative and Business Analyst on the Feature Film Unit. In this position, Donna was able to work with some of Canada's finest independent filmmakers. Donna has written four feature films to date, including "Mouthing the Words," based on the Toronto Book Award winning novel by Camilla Gibb, and an adaptation of Karen Stabiner's book "To Dance With The Devil" for Starz! Pictures. |
